Blandford Family ReunionBlandford Family Reunion? It's time to think about a 2025 Family Reunion at the White Church of Blandford. The Wymans did it in 2017 and 2022. They timed it to coincide with the Labor Day Weekend Blandford Fair, but any time in the Summer of 2025 would work. It can be as simple as your family doing the organizing and renting the church from us, or we can help in many ways; finding and contacting distant cousins, planning presentations, making reunion T-shirts and maybe even cookbooks. Let us know if you are interested and how we can help. There have been so many families that have been in Blandford for generations...Ackley, Blair, Boise, Burr, Campbell, Cook, Deane, Fowler, Haight, Hayden, Healy, Herrick, Knox, Loomis, Nye, Oatley, Peebles, Pease, Ripley, Robbins, Smith, Taggert, Tiffany, Watson, Wood, Wyman, and many, many more. All it takes is a few cousins to get it started. |
Historic DocumentsWe have taken advantage of a digitizing project at the Boston Public Library and here are links to three of the documents that they have digitized for us. Proceedings of the Blandford Lyceum Society and the Young Men's Literary Association [1829-1950] Address delivered before the Literary Association, Blandford, Mass., Sept. 21, 1850, upon the history of that town By Wm. Gibbs. It includes a substantial amount of early Blandford biographical material. “The Christian warriour: a sermon preach'd at the French Meeting House in Boston”, [actually the Old South Meeting House] March 17th, 1744,5 by Wm. McClenachan, [the 1st Pastor of Blanford, MA] |
