August 6, 1872 Abbie and I ironed. Mr and Mrs Leete called. Sarah went up to the tannery.

August 5, 1872 Washed. Abbie helped the girls carry the dinner up to Tannery place.  August 4, 1872 We got behind about getting up and Edson had to wait for us to milk.  August 3, 1872 H carried off some of the vinegar Westfield. Curt worked getting in (turf and pod?). Noble came back.  August 2, 1872 Rainy. Wet all day. Peddlar come and we sold the rags, old brass andirons and got tin and glassware. H and S went up to Stewarts and got some corned beef. Rained every little while.  August 1, 1872 Curt some better but not able to work. H and S went up to Mr. P to work. I washed the pulled(?) wool.  July 30, 1872 Men went up to Mr. Ps to work. Abbie and I ironed then I went blueberrying, got some to can. At night had hard thunder shower and a good supply of water fell.  July 29, 1872 We washed, then I went and got a few blueberries for some pies and some green apples. Come a little ? of rain. Luther and Noble cut the barley.  July 28, 1872 Abbie and myself walked to church. Mrs. O and Helen also after tea. Henry and Sarah went with Ursula and her boys over to George’s. Found Liss sick as Arthur had been. Emma was there.  July 27, 1872 All the men here. Luther and ? cut the rye. The others work at hay. H sold a cow to a Westfield man. Sarah, Abbie and Hattie went to G place and picked the carrots. Sule washed for herself and ironed some then went blueberrying and come home and canned them. Got 12 qts in all.  |
