Friday, February 23, 1866
M Culver buried today. I went up to funeral. Em went with Billy. Bell with Burdett to Milo Cooks. Mr. Richards come. Thursday, February 22, 1866 School kept half a day then the girls went to helping at the hotel Festival tonight. They did not get home till 2 o’clock. Wednesday, February 21, 1866
School did not keep. Em got home at noon, went up at 3. I baked pies and cake for festival. Libbies breast caked. Tuesday, February 20, 1866 Emma come home and got ready and went to a festival at Feeding Hills with Herbert. Father went to Westfield. News clipping from February 19, 1866 Springfield Republican.
