Lowry, wet some.  Girls washed.  Could not put out clothes.  I got Abbie up early and sent her to office with a letter to Wilbraham.  Father went up street Got a letter from W.  James is better.  Grows cold.

Tried (or fried) my lard.  Cleaned ?  Still warm.  Party to Mr. O’s tonight.

Thursday, January 18, 1866
Father killing hogs.  Milo and ? Allen helping.  Kept Liss at home.  Grows warm, thaws.

Wednesday, January 17, 1866
Milo come, got some salt.  Grandpa Oatley come for girls.  Wrote to Sule.  Society to Mrs. Milo Cooks.  Em and Liss went come home in night.  Em staid at Mr. Hatch Teed night.

Tuesday, January 16, 1866
Got up a little early.  Snows and blows.  Father took sleigh and carried Bill to depot to go.  We had letters from Lib and Sule.  J. better.  E and B L, Ruth and Rose come.  Bess and Lottie going so ?? wants Bell.  Fixing Bell to go.

Monday, January 15, 1866
Very cold last night.  Two men from Granville? come.  Father hired one.  Had another from Lib.  J very sick.

Went to church.  Growing cold.  Wind blows dreadfully.

Girls washed.  Father started for hired man, didn’t get back till evening.  Thawed and rained some.

Mr. O’s hired man come and John B.  Snowed in eve.
