From the 1865 Diary of Mary Ann (Knox) Herrick Sunday, June 18, 1865 So very warm. Mr. H., Sule, Em, Bell, Liss, Abbie, Addie and May went to church. Rained some. My back is better.

When she says, 'So very warm' think about 90 degree temperatures with a fire going in the stove in the kitchen, no air conditioning and even no electric fans. Leave a Reply. |
