I feel pretty shifted. My stomach is badly off, Bell more. Bessie did not go for Bell is not well. Saturday, July 29, 1865
Father and Henry both feel bad. They went down to the Warfield place but they got but one load. Friday, July 28, 1865
Men gone to M place. Girls to school and picnic. Bell went, fainted. Had to be took to C’s place. Em got home. Thursday, July 27, 1865
Milo come, they all gone to W place. Got dinner to send down. Made cake for picnic. Girls staid to fix table. Man lay in barn (?) Wednesday, July 26, 1865
Got in the rest of the rye and what hay was down here. Henry went to Westfield in afternoon. So did men. Tuesday, July 25, 1865
He’s cradling. Comes up rain. They got in three loads. Rains. They have sowed turnips. Milo went home at 4 o’clock. Monday, July 24, 1865
Father most sick, gone to Milos. Brought home tools and a man who come along. Father cradled rye in the morn and man in afternoon. Saturday, July 22, 1865
Lowery and then rained. Father and A went and helped Milo get his hay in. Come off in afternoon. |
