Bell washed. I worked a bed quilt. Our folks mowed with machine on side hill above the orchard. Got in 3 loads. I went strawberrying. Made me sick all night. Tuesday, June 27, 1865
I’ve gone to making soap. H. patched house for Fred, like to have been flooded out. Our folks mowed below the garden this afternoon with machine. Monday, June 26, 1865
We did not wash. Rained in afternoon and at night rained very hard. A letter from Lib to Em. Sunday, June 25, 1865
Went to church in afternoon. Father carried Em to Bufords and took me to ride. Rode up to Cs. She is alone. Saturday, June 24, 1865
I’m washing. Men work on barn. Bessie helping Charlie. They most finished the outside of it. Paid Mr. Jacobs 10 dollars. Thursday, June 22, 1865
Mr. Cook and Mr. Jacobs work on farm. Bell is in. H did not come. Hoed potatoes come up. A shower. Made strawberry preserves. Wednesday, June 21, 1865
Rainy in morn. Bell feels better. Gone to working. I helped some in afternoon. Went and picked some strawberries. Em come home. Eunice and Celia B come. |
