Clothing out on grass, all water. I rinsed them in two waters. Mr. Oatley come and got moss to go to Sfd. Had a letter from Sule. Father brought another hired man. Feel about sick.

It rained dreadfully. Blowed in the garret window. Rained down in stove. Chamber bed wet. October 29, 1866
O dear me my little company is gone. Mr. H has took May home. It rains too. Father went to depot. A Mr. Billings come home with him. Staid all night. October 28, 1866
Girls gone. Took May to church. Lissa and May come home at noon. Mr. Howe and Addie come. Tuesday, October 23, 1866
Charlotte, Lottie and babies come down. Mr. Sennett and Mr. Black here to dinner. Bell come home. She and Em went up to Davis to party. *Charlotte was their daughter, married to Emerson Oatley. Charlotte and Emerson had seven children, including Charlotte ‘Lottie’ who would have been 6, and younger twin sisters Rose and Ruth born in 1865. |
